Oh no, rev's suck, its low down torque u need, ie a supercharger (instant go), or a turbo charger (2 are better one high pressure and one low pressure), im sure most R-Type are fun, but u arent going to break any records compared to evo-scooby-skyline- type of thing,,, and Magic u r spot on mate, turbo's are great but add nitrous oxide or laughing gas as we know it, it will increases the engine power big time, shove no2 on a 1.3 metro and it will keep up with and r-type (in a strait line) so just imagine what it will do to a car with 280 bhp (impreza) as standard.............. i once raced a car up Santa Pod which was running on NOS. I just had my slightly bog standard GTE 16v and he was in some kind of old big engined thing. Anyway about half way up i see a little puff of smoke out the back of his and away he went. He finished in 13.4 and i ran in 15.2 (not bad for my first ever go)

Saying that I saw some lush crashes at the MOTO GP yesterady, best site of the day was a brunnette driving exactly the same car as me but in convertable, we were stuck in traffic for ages admiring each other, oops meant each others cars, god I wish I hadnt had the ex sat next to me!

apparently the new Type R is supposed to be horrid. It's had a face lift which has made it look nasty.
As a Honda worker in Swindon who builds Civic's and of course the Type R! The new Type R is not a face lift but a complete new car within the new generation 'Civic Concept'. The existing Type-R is the fastest car in its class for a mere £16,000 with a 2.0 litre 197Bhp lump. The new Type- R will be a bit more I reckon but it will have a 2.4 litre engine and kick in excess 225Bhp!

No Type R pics have been realeased i assure you. I'm a regular on Type R forum and know a guy on there from from Honda UK. As for the 1.3 Litre Metro with Nos keeping up with a Type R It will be quick i certainly agree but more Saxo VTR pace than the current breed of 200 bhp hatches. Hot hatches are all about fun and the main factor is weight. Type R weighes 1204 kg New Astra VXR, Golf GTi, Megane Trophy, Cupra R and Focus ST all weigh 1350-1400 kg. Power to weight ratio is what matters. It's wrong to think because a car has less torque it will be slower. The standard Impreza WRX has 222 bhp and 221 lb/ft of torque BUT only manages 0-100 mph in 16 secs (same as Type R). The STi is a different matter though, very fast.
