Off to Cologne on Saturday taking in Cologne v Leverkusen and then out on the last in the evening.

Am I correct in saying that you can drink alcohol whilst watching football in Germany? When I have watched German football on TV, the atmosphere at almost all the Bundesliga games always seems to come across as pretty loud with non stop singing. Is this the norm?

Also, anyone got some tips of decent places to go in the evening? I guess the student area is probably a good bet? Pint

I went during the World Cup and thought it was a superb city, but I couldn't tell you a single place I went. Glad I could help. Smiley

We went last year, Cologne is a great city, loads to see and do and plenty of places to imbibe. Sadly for me,i didn't sample any of the local brew as i was pregnant.

Didn't you make the front page of a newspaperout there Yeovil?

Been a couple of times, mainly hit the bars.  Obviously, climb up the Dom for a good view.  My party went to a chocolate museum, but I left them to watch Swindon beat Lincoln on the box in a pub.

Last time I went to a football match in Germany a bloke comes round with a barrel of beer on his back and serves you from that.  They also gave us wet cheese.  I don't think that is normal, however.

I particularly like this bit: "The brothel advertises a money-back guarantee in case of unsatisfactory service by a woman"

Would love to watch a Bundesliga game, the crowds are out of this world.

Heard on the radio this morning that Dortmund took 20,000 fans to an away match this weekend.

Used to be beer on supply everywhere.

Travelled with Glasgow Rangers away in Europe and had a great time in Dortmund. Used to work over in Germany a few years back and loved it.
If only Swindon were in Europe a great experience.
