£7M bargain for a highly talented 7 ft tall player. The secret is all the other players will be too busy thinking "fuck, he's s tall" or "lanky streak of piss, he must be shit" whilst Crouchy casually knocks in his hattrick.

that is a joke right  Oops

It's not as if it's his first big money move, he went to Aston Villa for £5 million a couple of years ago.

Crouch almost single handedly kept Southampton up last season, they probably would have stayed up but he couldn't play in a couple of the deciding games.  16 goals in 33 games for a poor side is an impressive total, only Henry, Johnson and Defoe had better goals per game ratios and Johnson's were all penalties anyway, Crouch is much better than him.

It would be foolish to write him off, he scored far more than Baros last year and a lot more than Cisse in only a few more games. Morientes also only got 3 goals in 16 games, can Crouch do better? Undoubtably.

If you watched Southampton last year, with Crouch he was their key man the only player who looked dangerous and clearly a class above any of their other players, without him they seemed a bit lost.

There is no question Crouch is a great player, it just depends whether Benitez can get the best from him but he's shown he's a decent tactician so far.

I will bet on him to be top scorer in the premiership next year.

Not a bad player, as Ben said got 16 goals for Southampton last year so can't be that bad. And even though he's really tall he's not too bad with the ball at his feet either.

Personally, there are better players Liverpool could have signed, but he'll get a few goals for them, better player than Heskey.

51/1 on Crouch to be premiership top scorer. Well worth a bet, after betting on Chelsea to win the title last year I think this could be my next win.
