Seeing as we are at home to Crawley on Valentine's night, I guess a few of you have decisions to make? I'm taking the missus out for a meal

I've taken a couple of girlfriends to Valentines games before... think they included a victory over Reading and a thrashing of Gillingham maybe?
The current one won't be dragged to the County G again, so she'll have a nice quiet evening in on her own.

My valentines present to my wife is to take the boys to the football, so she can have a nice quiet night in.

We don't celebrate Valentines - don't really see the point, however had I still been living locally, I would have been at the CG irrespective!

People who choose Valentines Day over football must be pretty insecure about their relationship, the day is a commercially driven con. My Mrs didnt blink when I said we would go out for a meal another night.
You can take the Mrs out and treat her right any night of the year.

I've just started seeing a girl who used to live in Crawley. The last football game she saw was the FA cup defeat last season. I'm going to ask her to come

Girlfriend not fussed about Valentines in the slightest, so no fear of repercussions.

I'm going to ask her to come You've normally got to do a bit more than ask. The notion of a bird dictating that you can't go to watch the Town, due to some arbitary date, is wrong on almost every level. It would only be acceptable, if you were trying to make up for some misdemeanour like sex with her best mate.
