1) His appointment - Exciting but risky

2) Our poor start - Worrying we'd got it wrong

3) his handling of the Clarke affair - Bemused at the time with nobody coming away with credit, with hindsight it msay just have been the squad become "one"

4) Our current position -Murray Walker used to say "catching is one thing, overtaking is another". I this case we have caught but I just hope we now have the desire to pull away rather than mistakenly thinking "job done". I think we will.

5) Our future  - Bright. The reds have a great chance of going up, and a chance of Wem-ber-ly. And its in no small part down to Ferry, Ritchie and Caddis. These players could have buggered off at the end of the season, even though they were least culpable for getting us into this mess. So well done to them for trying to right the wrong, and to the board for resisting inflated January transfer fee. Unfortunately when summer comes there is a good chance they will be off to the Championship, a move they will have earned. So the future beyond the end of the season. Who knows! Lets take it one game at a time for now.

His appointment - delighted, huge-potential, slightly-unproven

Poor start - learning curve

Clarke affair - probably-crucial to-setting-the-culture that-we-are-now-benefitting-from

Current position - I-have-to go-back to-Macari/Hoddle-for anything-that-comes-close

Our future - confident, strutting, rosy,
