Pretty sure they can't do that, only loan players.

Bristol City did it to us when he joined.

Sure City did it when we signed Roberts. Not sure if the ruling has changed though.

To be fair, as a player Hessenthaler was a bit of a legend. Remember watching him go past players half his age in the 2nd tier on TV. Putting other players to shame. Real old school, going at it 100%.

Just catching up on this one, has there been a scarf above the head photo yet or are people just getting slightly ahead of themselves?

I think the rules have been revamped completely and its not allowed even for loan players?

But it should be a complete non starter. Id be furious if there was a clause he couldnt play against the Jills.

I think it's the complete opposite now for loan players, to avoid any allegations of throwing a match they're not allowed to face their parent club.

Not sure about permanent signings but would be very surprised if we'd agree with it anyway.

I read earlier that Jutkiewicz won't be playing against Coventry later this month, so I presume its still possible to put a similair clause in.

I'm sure it still exists for loan players, what with Timlin not allowed to play against us and all that?

I haven't been to many games this season but did go to the Gillingham game and Rooney was very impressive, caused us lots of problems. Played on the right if I remember correctly but Di Canio seems to like playing his wingers on the wrong side so they can cut in, no doubt he will be challenging De Vita for a place in the side. Also think he may be used just behind the front two, will certainly give us another good attacking option and with all the games we have coming up we need plenty of them.

However Jutkiewicz will not play against his old club after Mowbray made a gentleman’s agreement with City boss Andy Thorn not to play his new signing.

Seems that it wasn't in the contract, just an agreement made...

Haha, what a cunt.

' Rooney in, Caddis and Ferry possibly to make way. Heard that Brentford are after Ferry and Torquay want Bodin Jnr. permanently.

Ritchie will stay, unless Portsmouth or West Ham bid silly money for him. Can't see him going to Bournemouth.

Constable and Ross Allen in please - Leon Clarke and Mehdi Kerrouche out.

Hope Paolo jettisons Risser, Esajas and the other foreign flops - will help ease the wage bill for one and get us in some extra cash.'
