All gone quiet on the Rooney front. I'm guessing we're probably just keeping our mouths shut. After all we've pissed Gills off enough. I'm loving this transfer window. Pissing off the scum and Gillingham. Who shall we piss off next?

Kuffour's just signed for them so the deal may now speed up.

I would have preferred Kuffour to be honest.

Do Gillingham not have email, or a phone? Are they sending someone on a horse to tell us if they accepted the offer or not?

Didn't they make the news some time ago because they couldn't fax some paperwork through on time? Sure I remember that.

Takes around 9 days at 20 mph for a horse drawn caravan to get to the CG.

At least that would explain where Shergar went, but I feel you might have got that wrong.

I think we should give the bidding a rest now until the last couple of days of the window. Rooney will probably still be there.

I think we shouldn't bother bidding for him again to be honest. Apparently he's going to be there till the end of the season now anyway. We may as well see what Bodin can do out wide for us. He was decent down at Torquay and from what Gills fans say about Rooney I very much doubt he'd be any better than Bodin.

Didn't we have the same problem with Benson?

Personally, I was very impressed with Rooney when I saw him play for the Gills at the CG earlier on this season. He was the main inspirational player in midfield for them & looked to be causing us problems until two late 'wonder goals' from Ritchie & Smith settled it.  In fact, I was impressed with the team generally - in my view the best side I have seen at the CG this season. Think they will be there or thereabouts come season's end.
Given that Rooney is only 21 & he's going to get better then provided he stays levelheaded then he could have a very good future in the game - love it to be in the red shirt of Swindon Town.

Gills fans reckon he turned us down personally as he wants to play higher than League 2.
