It'll all be down to Rooney. If hw wants to stay at Gills and they offer what he sees as acceptable then he will stay but I guess if they dont then he'll push for a move and force Gillingham's hand. Can't remember where I read it but read last week that Rooney thinks Gills have messed him around a fair bit so he might be keen on a move.

The thing is we have made an official bid, so it's not just a case of us saying we wouldn't mind signing him.

It's no different than Bournemouth making bids for Rithcie, if the Pikey's don't want to sell him they can just turn down the bid.

The fact that he can leave at the end of the season just impacts how much they can get for him, as a tribunal is always a bit of a lottery. Although with all the lucky heather they have maybe they think that's the best option.

I read the report that Hess was angry about the Town's bid being made public & not the way football club's should do things.  Fine except that he's also quoted about wanting to sign Kuffour & not sure whether Buckle's sacking will affect this.  But isn't Kuffour contracted to another team & isn't that making it plain they want to sign him?

It's not as though any bid would have unsettled him.

Surely to be unsettled, one must be settled in the first place.

I doubt anyone in Gillingham is 'settled'!!

Gillingham are just a confusing mess who will get upset about anything Swindon related.

See Gillingham have just bought a winger/striker - Tomlin from Daggers.
Replacement for Rooney maybe?

Do Gillingham not have email, or a phone? Are they sending someone on a horse to tell us if they accepted the offer or not?

I guess at the moment Gillingham are either willing to sell and haggling with us over a fee or they are pissed off about us making it public and making us wait for an answer.
Either way we are probably being a bit more hush hush about it now, dont want to piss them off anymore if we want a favourable outcome
