Can someone give an idiot's guide to how you access these feeds?  Is it as simple as going to the website of one of those 21 channels and clicking a 'watch live' button?

Yeah, pretty much. I use this one usually:

http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/

No links for the game as yet but its still early. Use one of the browser links rather than sopcast as that requires a small download. If a link to the game via VIP Box appears try that one, I find them very good.

Thank you, Sir.  All looks very simple.

the only ones I ever use are here because none of them ask you to download dodgy plug ins into the browser.

Here's another potential site that sometimes is decent: http://www.freefootball.org/upcoming.php

The streams are sometimes poor quality, keep stopping, have ads popping up, etc so you have to keep switching to different sites. It's not great tbh but if it's the only option then it's better than nothing

I usually find this site below is good, there are a couple that you may have to download a prog or 2, sopcast & veetle are ones i have used for a few years with no problems at all.

Setanta Ireland are showing the game live, also the streams will be up about an hour before kick off. Also Mark O'Donnell on BBC Radio Swindon has said that the commentary will be online as well. Hope this helps.
