Swindon players deserve Wigan clash - Paolo di Canio
     


Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio tells BBC Wiltshire that his players "deserve the challenge" of facing Wigan in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Can you remember the Wigan away match in the playoffs when we were 2-0 down.....and won it 3-2,think the home match was 0-0.

That old ground of theres was grim.

Yep,  The grass bank with a cow shed on top.

I remember some of our lot ripping up clumps of grass & dirt from the bank, throwing it in the air & singing the celery song.

If I remember rightly when it was 2-0, Digby made a really good save after one of theirs intercepted a backpass. I'm not sure we would have come back so well from 3-0 down

Local Coppers told me that night we were the worst away fans they had ever had there - I had to laugh at that !!!

Didn't go to the play off game for some reason but did go to the regular season game for the 3-2 defeat. I think Tim Flowers was on loan to us at the time and was badly at fault for one of the goals. I think Paul Jewell was probably playing for them as well.

Springfield Park was a shit hole - FACT!
