“This year it is the 11 best that has been whittled down to play against a Swindon Town XI made of the youth players, one or two first teamers and Jordan Pavett."

Not exactly a glowing reference for Pavett!

This year with things looking a little brighter I cant help but feel there may be a rough gem to be had.

Last years competition came at such a bad time as we were fighting a relegation battle and morale was low that the entire thing was a bit of an anti climax.

I can see there being a bigger hoo haa over the winner this year, and maybe even a bigger chance for a couple of appearances by the end of the season

This reminds me it was a little over a year ago, that several of the foaming mongs on thisis, went into absolute meltdown, because Wilson wouldn't sign John Campbell, who they were touting as the new Charlie Austin.  There was even one fella, who claimed that was it for him...he wouldn't go again.... even though he didn't already  Smiley

Campbell went instead to Darlo, where he scored 3 goals in the Conference....before being freed to Bedlington Terriers last month.
