Hi Guys.

My name is Steven and I live in NYC.  I'm actually English and have only been over here since August.  The truth is, I have supported Blackburn Rovers for my entire life (20+ years) but can no longer accept the corruption that is going on at the club and to be honest the way the Premier League operates is killing my interest in what used to be a very special game for me.

I have always held a soft spot for Swindon and actually grew up with Jonathan Smith - We are still friends to this day.  Your club represents to me what football should be.  You have no idea what we have had to put up with, with Venkys in control.  I'm not interested in starting FC Rovers or any of that bullshit.  I want to watch a team with ambition and a team with a history and that is you guys.

So as a more regular follower, I wanted to introduce myself and wondered what are the main things I should know about the club?  I appreciate that this is an odd thing to do but the prospect of following you guys is far less frustrating than the prospect of continuing to support what is now the zombified corpse of Blackburn....Venkys FC.

Thank you all,

Steven.

Fuck off Steven, you fucking plastic, doughnut-munching cunt.

How the fuck can you turn your back on the club you've allegedly supported all your life, then try and adopt another one that your mate just happens to play for when your own club are in the shit?

What a cunt.

Ahh that famous warm Wiltshire welcome.

Welcome along to the forum. I dont have a problem with you switching you allegence to us,footy fans are way to precious about that sort of thing including our friends above it would seem. We've had our fair share of board troubles, infact there were times when some Indian Chicken tycoons would have seemed an attractive proposition. But all is well at Swindon now, even last seasons relegation set back has been forgotton about. Some people dont like PDC but we aren't allowed to mention that..

I dont go to football anymore,I think I prefered the bad times.I never felt more a part of the club than when I was protesting against our past crooked regime. These days I dont care much for it,Swindon seems sterile and souless.Fans are thought of as customers/units and games/players as product.

So with that in mind I propose a swap deal. You support Swindon and i'll become a millitant Blackburn fan, that way we may both gain that something we both seem to be missing from our lives.

I see the young internet warrioring children have come out to play!

I suspect our newest recruit will always have an affinity with BRFC, but I have no problem with him taking an interest with a club his mate plays for. Its hardly like we have such a massive fanbase that we can afford to be choosy about who follows us!

Welcome and board and enjoy the frustrations of following a team like BRFC was pre-benefactor.

I've heard lots of people say on here that they have 2nd teams ! bought a Blackburn shirt a few years ago when they won the league ahead of Man U just to piss my brothers off who both supported United.

Fabulous post couldn't agree more, except for the bit about Swindon Town FC becoming soulless....
