I'm being optimistic and hoping it's because it's a slow news day and there's nothing more to it than that.

Get used to it fellas. This is what happens when you hire a decent young manager with prospects. Goes with the territory. It's when stories like this stop appearing that we need to worry.

The bloke is loyal,as proven when he turned down man u as a player. The board have backed him and our weekly outgoings on wages are high. I think he'd probably move on if the offer was too tempting, but likewise if we are on the up wouldn't rule him out staying either.

Agreed. Would like to think even if bigger clubs were circling, he'd still see it through to the end of the season. If we're up at that point then for me it's job done and he goes with my best wishes. By the way, welcome back arriba...

The only one I'd be really worried about is West Ham. If they came knocking, he'd be off in a flash. The good thing here is that Gold & Sullivan are incredibly loyal to their managers and Allardyce is doing well with results if not style.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't think he'd leave for anyone (including WHU) unless he was booted out or came to the end of a contract, thus refusing another. We all know Paolo's a unique and loyal individual, which I think will be proven in his treatment of his employers, regardless of his admirers. He's also intelligent enough to know just because he stays with us for a year or so longer, doesn't mean he'll suddenly become crap as a manager or WHU would no longer want him upon their next managerial shift.
