On the way home after the match yesterday I met Aden Flint at Strensham services, really nice bloke and happy to chat. I asked how his injury was, assumimg he was out due to an injury and he said he was fit, he said he didnt expect to get an automatic place but was still gutted and not getting selected.....you can see his point.

Think we've been crap at them all season, plus crosses in to the box seem to have been our biggest downfall.

Flint is a very good player, but we've won more games with him out of the side than in it!

Correct Herthab, good player and look forward to seeing him in the team again, fact is his injury coincided with us having a decent run,its up to him to make certain when he plays again that he does enough to stay in the team.

We also had 5 clean sheets in a row (in the league) before yesterday. Ignoring stats, I think Flint would be better than McCormack in that position.

Even if he's not currently first choice, it's foolish not to have him on the bench.

Totally agree Jo, perhaps Paolo like many of us thought we would not be fighting for a point v Hereford. We had plenty of attacking options on the bench but very little in the way of cover for defenders, especially centre halfs. I also agree we're poor at defending set pieces but we need to stop giving away stupid free kicks to reduce the threat.

Devera and Flint would be my defensive pairing. I would suspect that Flint might make a return and I believe mcormack will move up to midfield as Jonathon went off with a knock against Hereford. I Just Hope its not not comazzi at the back, we're all doomed if so!!! I dont recall this defensive pairing much so i would be very interested to see how it goes. Devera has been showing some good form as of late and Flint was doing very well before his injury. Hopefully they will get an opportunity and do well with us leaping up the table.

PdC said on Saturday before the game in a private interview with Vic that he doesnt think McCormack and Ferry can play together in midfield.

Flint is a very good player, but let's not forget we were conceding a lot of needless goals and not winning when he was in the side. It's easy to see why PDC was reticent to bring him straight back.
For what it's worth, I would have him back now. We seemt o concede from set pieces regardless of whether he plays or not, so it can't hurt! He's strong in the air and with Devera becoming more of a presence, they may improve as a pairing. The trick is to pick a pairing and stick with it... the side is starting to have a familiar feel, which is a good thing IMO
