Pretty sure he is on the shortlist, don't think the Adver would lie.

won 4, lost one (to us, when they got their pants pulled down) and drawn one. On a small budget, too.

I believe so.

To be honest the fact that they are sitting on top of the table as much as anything else gives me confidence for our chances this season. Thought we were by far the better side when we played.

i couldn't believe it when i saw southend top, i also thought they were rubbish.

we really do just need a big old fashioned bruiser up front i think, the kind that'll take a few defenders with him into the net

I was hoping that Magera might be that fella.

don't see it, can see why he has played att mid a lot.  one of those big chaps who doesn't seem comfortable with arial challenges, that could be down to lack of match practice though

certainly a good footballer in him but as yet not the kind we'd hoped as far as i can see

Judge him when he's fully fit and playing regularly. I don't think we've seen best of him, risser or many of the new signings yet. But I think all will play a big part at some stage...

There have been plenty of seasons where we've had the better of top of the table teams, only to come unstuck v strugglers....a particular favourite of the genre, was 02/03 when we turned over an excellent Wigan side 2-1 at the CG, who only lost 4 that season and got 100 points.  It was the sort of rare all guns firing performance, that leads one to think we've some useful players who might in fact make a good team.....next game at the CG lose 3-0 at home to Wycombe, who finish 18th, undone by Craig Faulconbridge, who used to do similar for Wrexham.

It's the ability to beat the top teams, but fail at the strugglers, which shows an inconsistent outfit, which usually leads to a mid table finish.
