I like the fact Gelbfüßler posted that. I assume Dads Army didn't make it to Germany? I'll be disappointed if turns out you are not German.

I did read once about a group of German TV execs went to view 'Allo 'Allo with a view to commissioning it over there.  Allegedly, they came out of the booth 30 mins later almost crying with laughter...but had to say 'sorry, no way can we take it.'

British & German humour is very close, I think.
