The spread of common culture, doesn't mean they are the same people, or that there have been mass migrations of people throughout prehistory.  It's a bit like saying the English and Indians are the same people because they share a love of cricket, curry and democracy.

I never said that they were "the same people" did I Reg? I referred to a common culture didn't I Reg?

Where axactly are you going with this?

As the Kraut said ( Wink) Calling someone a Wap/Wop/Waap etc is not racist as it is not singling out their race as such which is white/caucasian. It is singling out and insulting their nationality.

It is some other kind of 'ism' but not racism. Jingoism? Probably not but it's the best I can come up with.

Racism covers nationality as well as skin colour, ethnicity, race and so on.

Racism does not cover nationality, it covers race. That's why it's called racism. You could possibly call it nationalism but not racism.

I'm sure the Irish will love you thinking that Hibernia was part of Britannia.  Best not to enter into the minefield of Balkan history, you'll be bound to upset somebody.

Gaul as you put it, geographically covered most of modern day France however the Celtic culture of which I was referring to, which included the Gaulish tribes, extended much, much further as I have already stated.

Racism is different to xenophobia, which is what I think this would be...

Thrace was always a bit of a nebulous concept, but was in parts of present day Greece Turkey and Bulgaria.  The Bulgarians are proud of their Thracian inheritance, and look after the archaeology and artefacts.

Because as far as the sort of people who use the term 'P***s' are concerned i.e racists, the people they are aiming it at may be nationals of Pakistan. However, they could just as easily be from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, or even places like Uganda, Kenya or Trinidad (a lot of Asians have migrated to/from those countries over the years.) For the racists though, it is sufficient to lable them all as 'P***s'. To them, the actual country they are from is irrelevant. So in this sense, 'P***s' is clearly a racist term.
