Almost guaranteed that he'll go up there and score at will. Other clubs are loving this situation, knowing we wont take him back means he could score 20+ goals up there and we wont receive one single bid; we'll just get loads of other clubs wanting him on loan. This could carry on for the next two years before he leaves on a free. Not that I'm a synic or anything.

If anything the reason we are sending him on loan is so we can sell him cheaply if there is interest. Terminating his contract will cost us a fortune so if we can sell him we make money and not lose it.

You're spot on, we'll want to sell him on cheaply. I just get the feeling that no club will offer for him in the next two years while they could have him on loan and let us still pay about half of his wages.

His wages can't be that high. There is a wage cap in this league after all. That said Chesterfield probably dont get great crowds.

wage cap doesn't kick in for relegated teams until their second season in the division. I think.

Mine's a very synical point of view and I hope I'm wrong. Having said that, I don't know any business that would pay full price for something each week when they can have it reduced for a prolonged period of time.

Yes Sonic it does cover newly relegated teams as well, it has been touted that it will actually go down to 55% from the current 60%.

I thought it was agreed just before the start of the season that it will definitely reduce to 55%, maybe even for this season.
Wage cap is also coming in (not sure at what levels) in the other 2 divisions of FL.

I assume it doesn't apply to newly promoted teams though.

Jezza stated, not long after we signed Magera I think, that we were below the 55% by about 5p.
