If memory serves me Macari signed him from Chester City after we won the 4th division. He was with us maybe 3 months before he got fed up with the training and went to Oldham. Seem to remember him looking to wind up town players going on about how hard the training was and all the running they had to do. Mmmm like that could ever happen again.

I remeber him - had a chin like Jimmy Hill. He wasn't a bad player at all - pretty hard as well. I think I read some time ago he was absolutely minted now.

Now there's a name, long forgotten. I seem to remember him playing at the same time as Steve Berry, the season we wnet up to Div 2....never really had any idea why he moved on, other than Lou seemed to move them on quite quickly if he felt it wasn't working out. Which is more or less what happened to Steve Berry. Berry had a strange STFC career, only played in all the 86/87 PO games....then 2 LC games in 87/88 and 3 other league games. Which meant 10 games in total but only against 5 different sides.

Lies. People were pre-occupied saving Manatees with Al Gore to care about that election.

I played against him in a charity match at Tisbury...he played in a side with Emelyn Hughes, Archie from Emmerdale, Ian Beale, some bloke off Brookside, Frank Worthington was a no show.
Had a beer with him after...proper down to earth bloke...said he never got on with Macari.
Saw him get sent off pre season against Salisbury City once.
