Noticed a bit on the bbc about how Shamrock Rovers have made history by making the group stages of the Europa League (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14676723.stm) - in some style too:

Is that Gary Twigg playing for Shamrock? He played a couple of times for us, and was shite.

Bored of the Shamrock media love in already. One tiny piece of european 'success' in x amount of years and it's being reported as League of Ireland 1 SPL 0.  Jesus on that basis we must hang our heads in shame for the entire year after last Sunday's result.  Although in Victor's (sorry I mean Reg's) case no change there.

Having said all that I'm in no way defending the SPL, Rangers and Celtic have finally ruined that league, clubs like Hibs/Hearts/Dundee Utd can only spend money on producing a certain amount of young scottish talent and have them stolen of their hands by the ugly sisters for so long. Hence why Hibs go for shit players like O'Hanlon and Aberdeen go for even worse players like Ifil.

Yep, sport goes round in circles, 80's, 90's Scotland were far ahead of Ireland rugby wise, and some may argue, internationally at least, things are on the turn ince again.  World Cup should be an interesting test.

As for the cricket? Who gives a fuck about that in either country?  The fact the best Irish cricketer (or I'm led to believe he is) has opted to play for another country proves that.

Good luck to the micks anyway.

Just like the Irish football team is known as the England "B" team, in cricket, they're known as the Australian "B" team.
