Garner was part of a rebuild, with a DoF, responsible for recruitment.  The plan was to field a team of younger players, dispensing with more-experienced pros.  Rovers were turning it around when Garner was sacked. Tisdale was sacked immediately after complaining of having no strikers.  Barton of course has trashed Garner, but even with a large wage bill has been inconsistent this season.  With Rovers doing the hokey-pokey and not turning it all around, it is ironic that Barton trashed Pitman, post- Forest Green for not scoring, claiming that he was getting goals without having a striker available.  Garner's use of attacking midfielders who score when the opposition tire, works extraordinarily well away from home.  Harrogate, on Saturday were knackered towards the end, but were saved by the ref's incompetence. If Rovers had stuck with Garner, they could be in a league higher, with the days of 4:4:2 with "little and large" upfront may no longer being in the advanced coach's handbook.  But don't tell Tisdale or Barton, but it probably doesn't matter for Barton, he is never wrong, it's always somebody else's mistake.  Now watch Garner improve knackering-out the opposition in home games.  He's a thinker and will be on higher clubs' radar.

Ex Town player Ian Culverhouse "leaves" Kings Lynn, he did well there initially but with no money to spend could not compete in the Conference

Could be a gig coming up in Bulgaria....  Seriously though, it hasn't really worked for him anywhere but here. I wonder why that was?

Almost every success/failure is purely down to recruitment - with a huge dollop of luck, good or bad.
