Cook confirmed at Ipswich. Good appointment for them and could see them promoted.
Seems like their current owner made the appointment so not sure where that leaves the 'takeover imminent' gossip.
Interesting that Cook turned down Cardiff in favour of Ipswich in a lower league. Very good signing and as you say could easily spark an improvement in their league fortunes, lets face it he couldn't do a lot worse in the eyes of Ipswich fans, we even beat them there! |

I kind of feel sorry for Harry Kewell as he did 'things the right way', as many would say, starting in development coaching before taking senior jobs in the lower leagues but even for a manager with a reputation for taking jobs at 'basket case' clubs, it's not pretty viewing stats wise.
The guy was even dismissed from his job as U23 manager at Watford! Who knew that you could be sacked from a development role for poor results!?

It is almost unheard of for an U23 manager to be sacked but when you see the results...losses to Cardiff, 7-1, Ipswich, 8-0, 4-1 home to Bristol City and his last game in charge, a 4-1 loss to Colchester. Thats pretty awful. |

Very much doubt he was sacked purely on the basis of those results. More that those scorelines point to a failure to properly develop the players in his charge which would be the results that actually count. |
