Not a popular view, but Gerrard to Bristol does make sense to me.  He won't take Rangers any further in the near term.  Celtic are too dominant.  And I think BCFC are a reasonably attractive prospect.  Nice set up, supportive owner.  And not inconceivable that they could break through in the next year or two.  I sort of feel (regrettably) that it's going to be their turn soon.

Looking at Wiki to see how Gerrard has done at Rangers I note they have only had 17 managers in their history...... (we have had 17 - not including caretakers since 2000).

I remember Sir Wesley's comments on Gerrard were somewhat incredibly subdued. I don't think it was due to being an out of favour keeper, either. He seemed to hold back on wanting to say more than he did. Would be interesting to hear about that more but we also know that Gerrard (off the pitch) does have a "nasty cunt" streak in him.

Could be one for Rich to tap up a few years down the line, once Foderingham retires and see if he'll budge on that any more.

Ex Col U boss John McGreal lined up to replace Mickey Mellon at Tranmere who jumped off a sinking ship 2 weeks ago to join Dundee Utd.

Appleton denies any link to Bristol City.

That means he will get the job then!

Cowley bros binned off by Huddersfield. Seems a bit rude after they got Leeds promoted

Won't that put them on 4 managers this season (incuding whoever is appointed caretaker)? They must be wondering why they're going down
