From a life perspective it's an absolute no brainer - a new job that's closer to home on (probably) on more money.

Bristol Rovers accept a bid for Graham Coughlan and he is currently in talks to take over at Mansfailed after yesterday refusing to allow him to speak to them, hes obviously made his mind up.
No brainer, bigger budget and closer to his home in Sheffield.
Not like them to steal another teams manager mid season is it?

Ancelotti to Everton apparently. Seems a bit of an odd fit.

It's a bit like Pellegrini at Hammers, a very good manager but not what a middling club needs if they're trying to break the glass ceiling.

Quite so, although I suppose he may prove to be adaptable and surprise us all. But that level/type of club isn't where his track record is.

Thing is Everton are trying to move up a level with a chairman who will back a manager (£450m+ spent so far), they just need to find a decent manager, possibly not the right time in Ancelotti's career so we shall see. FWIW Arteta to Arsenal seems more perverse, obviously we don't know how good he is (and I assume Arsenal will know better than me) but considering what a shit show Arsenal have been (both on and off the pitch), the lack of support and clarity at board level it seems a very risky move for both him a the club!

Yes but Ancelotti's career to date has largely been about providing the final polish on clubs who have moved up to that level (and probably the one above, looking at the state Everton are in). He's not got a track record as a builder. Maybe he can do it, maybe he fancies adding that to his skill set, but it's not where he's built his reputation to date. As you say, we'll find out soon enough.

It's not a risky move for Arteta at all - he's close to landing one of the biggest managerial jobs in the country with zero experience. What has he got to lose? Doesn't have a reputation or track record to protect.

Ex Luton and Stoke manager Nathan Jones turns down an approach from our blue and white friends west down the M4.

Sounds very much like the Luke Williams style appointment.
