Madness. I'd take Akinde here on a 1 yr deal aswell.
Really? I thought he looked an absolute cart horse the couple of times he has played against us.

If he stays fit, which he has admittedly failed to do so over the last few seasons I believe, then I think he'd get goals at this level! He'll be available on a free so would be worth a punt imo.

A donkey alright, but a Div 4 donkey, so can score a few at this level, given a bit of luck. I'm not too worried about what we've got up front for next season, the work needs doing at the back.

He's got roughly 1 in 2 for Barnet. Not bad for a donkey. Fuck knows where that leaves Norris in the animal hierarchy!!

He only scored 7 this season in 32 games, Norris scored 13 in 35.

Before signing for Barnet he played 105 league games scoring 12 goals, thats 1 in almost every 9 games.

Apparently Barnet have put a £250k asking price on his head anyway so I can't see us forking out that sort of money.

That's crazy money for a Conf striker with little resale value given that he's 28. Surprised at how poor his goal record was this season, he got 26 in 48 the season before according to Soccerbase. I bet at least half of Norris' goals were pens mind. His record in open play is pretty woeful.

Oh there is no doubt Norris scored a lot of penalties, not sure if Akindea total includes penalties or not.

According to the Barnet forum Akinde is said to be on £3k per week and that was a major reason in his being put up for transfer.

Big wage for a small club if true. Martin Allen turned down a contract but did say that the chairman was increasing the budget for the new season!

I heard, from a pretty reliable source, that Martin Allen has concerns about his health and was rather enjoying life outside football management.

That never stops them from taking more jobs though.

John is on £2 - 3k per week a transfer fee of say £50k would in fact be worth £150- 200k in reality

But he would need to be replaced by someone who will also require a wage - albeit perhaps not as high as £2k-£3k a week

on National League money Barnet won't be able to afford to pay him what he's worth.
