We don't know how much more they can be polished up though, particularly if they are in a team playing well. I'm not doubting Luke's coaching ability, but it'll be difficult for any player to progress in a team playing as poorly as we are.
Let Luke do the coaching to give them the ability and another manager do the managing to get them doing the right stuff on the pitch.

One of our problems is that Power can no longer get quality recruits from his contact book,
Making up your own facts again, Reg?

Thing is Luke has brought the likes of Barry, Brophy etc forward. It's just that they started from such a low base. The likes of Mass and Byrne, were already at a reasonable level, so you end up with something better for the same amount of turd polishing.
One of our problems is that Power can no longer get quality recruits from his contact book, which looks like he left it the wash.
You cannot polish a turd, but you can sprinkle it with hundreds and thousands

Whereas, of course, their Chinese owners would know the Italian market inside out when they picked Zenga? Non sequitur of the week, there.
