If fat Sam survives the night I will be surprised, that was a mauling at Forest today.

Surely if his job was on the line he wouldn't have played the reserves/youth team?

He claims he had no choice with other 'big games' coming up - looks like they are another team who prefer not to have the distraction of the FA Cup like Norwich

Understandable really given the fact they have a decent crack at winning the League Cup and they have a relegation battle on their hands. I don't think it's disrespectful, I think it's sensible.

Sensible yes. The FA cup is another victim of the "success" of the Premier League/Champions league and its money.

I miss the days everyone went pretty much all out to win it, and the anticipation of the 3pm last game of the season final.

Lots of Hammers fans feel the same way and want rid of Sam, whether or not they are in the LC semi. Could be a fan backlash in the near future, even more so if they fuck up in the semis.

Fully agree. I've been saying for years that one of the automatic places for the CL should be given to the FA winners. That way the 'big clubs' will take it very seriously.

Yes I can recall the days the FA Cup final was a major event and we used to pile down the pubs at lunch time for a day session. It's just another league cup now.

It used to be the big football event. Both ITV & BBC would start their build up coverage first thing in the morning,  with reporters at the team hotels and even on the coaches. Celebrity fans of each team would appear, usually comedians. Then both tv channels would screen the match live (although I don't know why ITV bothered, as most people preferred the BBC coverage). Now it's lost most of it's pull. Real shame.

Look how happy he is!

Good move for him though, another London team for him to sink his teeth into.
