Are they subject to an imminent takeover? Seems a bit odd 3 games in with no defeats.

Perhaps Best Holdings have finally got Coventry  Smiley

They are in a financial mess. Coventry were in a transfer embargo for most of the summer.

I understand the takeover was completed a few weeks back by a company called SISU.

But they are still in financial problems and may not be able to afford a good experienced manager.

I know they are paying quite a large sum monthly to hire the Ricoh Arena to play in, rumoured to around £1.2 million per annum.

I recon Kevin Blackwell will get the job, cheap, a little bit of experience and out of work.

Surely it would have made more sense to wait a few days until the transfer window slams shut Doh

You do sometimes wonder with chairman of football clubs just what the fuck they are on, If they wanted him out surely it would have made more sense to do it after the end of last season, not three games into this one

It is not the best timing, but they have started ok the first 4 games, unbeaten with 1 win in the cup and 3 league draws in the league with one being away at current leaders yeovil and one against title favourites Sheff Utd.

But I do know the fans never took to Andy Thorn so maybe the felt a fans backlash might be coming after a home draw with Bury yesterday.

I think SISU are the problem. They've been in charge a few years I think...

You may well be right I am not sure, I do know that there is a lot of hatred towards SISU on their forums, I thought they were the new owners.

They do seem to be still in a bit of financial problems that will take an awful lot of cleaning up, a bit like when our previous owners left us.

Word on the Coventry street is they are about to be taken over by some Chinese consortium within the next few days who didnt want Andy Thorn as manager.

We shall see I suppose...

I guess if it was one of the provisos that Thorn was removed as manager before any takeover would happen then that would appear to be a valid reason for his departure.

Megson is 4-1 with Sky Bet , oh dear.

(Di Canio is 14-1, Redknapp 16-1, um, riiight.)

Interestingly Dennis Wise is a favourite on this forum poll

Nobody told them he's shit without Gus.

Yeah, some one put the odds up on a Coventry forum and I saw Di Canio was 14-1.  I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that he's not going to be interested in the Coventry job

John Sheridan has been given the boot at Chesterfield

That'll teach him to win the JPT
