Just a few thoughts on some of tonight's games, mostly the ones with Town connections...

Aston Villa 2-0 Hereford: Cracking effort by Hereford to hold out for 80 minutes against a strong Villa side... might that finally get their season going?

Bournemouth 1-4 West Brom: I see Cox played 90 minutes, scoring one and setting up another. I can't see him getting starts in the league any time soon but that won't have done him any harm

Bristol Rovers 1-1 Watford: Mustapha carayol with the winning penalty. I was surprised that Rovers signed him - anybody know how he's been getting on there?

Norwich 0-4 MK: 1) Oops  2) What on earth is Simeon Jackson doing at a Premiership club?!

Shrewsbury 3-1 Swansea: A good result for Shrewsbury against a fairly strong Swansea side. Let's hope we can bring them back down to earth on Saturday.

Wycombe 1-4 Forest: As mentioned elsewhere, Benyon got the goal from the spot. It was their only shot on target all game.

Couple of comments from me. The little teams always raise their game in this tournament. To me, Hereford are likely to struggle this season.

I fancy Franchise to get promoted this season, sadly!

He had a very good scoring run at the back end of last season, which obviously did their promotion push a world of good. Before that he was on a Pericard-style run of goalless games iirc. But as you say, never a Premier League player.

I see Warnock's blathering on about how he's glad QPR were knocked out the Cup against Rochdale.  If the stupid cunt had said that before the game, it might not sound quite so much like sour grapes.

Fine the wanker.  Anyone showing disrespect to any competitive trophy should be punished.

I don't mind squad rotation, but to come out and say that devalues the competition.  That said, with only three games having an attendence over >10,000, I'm not sure this competition even benefits the little guys much any more.

I couldn't believe Jason Puncheon played for Blackpool in the Premiership last year on loan from Southampton and now he seems to have vanished.

You might be right about Franchise, sadly. They've made a cracking start to the season.
