somebody like dicanio could actually be the making of simon ferry.
I had a very strict maths teacher the year after being set in the thick set for maths at school. I couldn't stand him. but whereas the year before I messed about a lot, I knuckled down and worked hard and achieved a grade that allowed me to progress to college.

Exactly. PDC would have told Ferry he needs to knuckle down and prove himself which it appears he's done. So whilst those that have decided to leave because they don't have the balls to fight their way out this league the likes of Ferry do. I hope he continues to prove his worth and with more game time be back better than he was last year

Di canio has made quick decisions on players since he took over. Quite a few he has then changed his mind about again. This does ring alarm bells, as i'm sure some of the players he has signed he will now not rate.

Agreed. I don't think we need to know EVERYTHING on Di Canio's mind. He's clearly honest and speaks his mind but it leads to the sort of questions arriba points out.

This... Maths teachers & managers are like food - the ones we really like are often the things that do us no good and yet the one we don't like are, as we often discover later, good for us... Wilson was Pizza Hut... Hart was McDonalds... PDC is broccoli and sprouts...

Wilson was a Ham Sandwich. Perfectly good lunch option and exactly what most other teams have for their lunch. But after three years, it get stale and you never want to see another ham sandwich. Hart was a filthy kebab. You knew it was bad for you, you knew it wouldn't work, you knew you'd regret it, but Fitton did it anyway. PDC is a macrobiotic diet planned and prepared by Gwyneth Paltrow. We're eating mung beans, doing hours and hours of yoga and then drinking mashed up nettles. It feels a bit mad, it's not what we're used to, we're getting stomach cramps and no-one's been to the loo for eight days. But Gwyneth's the most famous person in Swindon and we don't know whether we're allowed to tell her it's all mad because it might just work.

Mistakes...surely to be expected though when a first-time manager puts together a squad from scratch in a league he has never had experience of before. The key to his future success will be in not repeating any of them now that he actually has an awareness of what the standard requires.
