I'm not sure what the Manks love in is all about, perhaps it's like the Timmeh love in. Manks had decent pace and was an OK crosser, but was probably made to look better by JP, who would often drop back when over-lapped. I feel he's still living off the back of the play-off season, thanks to not playing much last season.
I think the difference between Big Kev and all our other play off season players is that they all let us down by being fucking awful last season. Cuthbert, Douglas, JPM, Sheehan - all fucking rubbish.
Big Kev was mainly injured and barely played.
Alot of people stuck by last seasons losers in a 'they might turn it around - they might rediscover their form kind of way' they all proved they couldnt re-discover their form and they were all a waste of space.
Kev hasnt really had the chance to prove either way whether he can replicate his form or not. He didnt play enough last season and when he did he was in and out the side.
If Kev had played 30+ games last season and been awful I think everyone would want to see the back of him. The best he managed last season was 12 games in a row (one on as sub, two off as sub - 9 full games) which was August to October time and we won 6, drew 2 and lost 4. 5 of those wins were in the league which was over half the amount of our season total of wins.
Not that any of that was purely down to Big Kev or anything!
Plus, on top of that I've never
fully understood the Caddis love in. I dont think he's anything brilliant and no matter how many times I've seen him play I dont think I'll ever be convinced right back is his strongest position.
For once DV is right. (Feels weird to say it)

Make the most of it. Its not very often you're right.
