Well seeing as how you've gone that far....you might as well go to Shrewsbury...

Might aswell seeing as I've got to change at Cheltenham 'bloody' Spa!

I'm going, still debating which is the best way to go from Swindon though. Was thinking m5 then m54 to shrewbury but then the m5 through Birmingham is a bit of a
Nightmare so is it better to get off the m5 just passed Worcester and go up to shrewbury via Ludlow on the a456 then the a49?

I will be going up Friday leaving Swindon about 5 ish.  Any info on the best route would be appreciated!

It'd be an expensive day out, especially with the Soton game to factor in, but I am quite tempted to go now...

I will be there.  Its one of two games this year within an hour of where I live (the other being Crewe away).  I can't wait.

Shrewsbury is also a very nice town. Traffic is difficult though, although the ground itself isn't too central so it's usually OK.

Not that anyone cares, but my son was born in Shrewsbury.  This alone makes it ace.

That's a nice route which I take to see some of my customers. My biggest being in Craven Arms, who incidentally could well be coming to join us on Saturday....

Watch out for the mobile speed camera vans in those villages between Worcester and the A49!!!! If it says 30 mph stick to it. So for me it's M5 JCT6, A449 (TWO STATIC CAMERAS EARLY DOORS) Spur off @ Ombersley and left at the mini roundabout towards Holt Heath on the A443. Then pick up the A456 @ Newnham Bridge and follow all the way through to the A49. Chuck a right and head north Via Ludlow, Craven Arms and Leebotwood to which you'll pick up a dual carriageway and IIRC you should see signs for the new stadium. That's my choice of route as the M5/6 interchange can be a pig and you only need a jack knifed caravan to ruin you plans especially on a B/H week end.
