where as Clarke worked his nuts off and fucked up the chance to amke it 2-2

Fair comment. My point was he didn't seem any more 'up for it' because of Di Canio's comments. He'd still have scored those two id Di Canio was a mute.

It was after the game on one of the side roads between Town and the CG. It was deffo him and he even had time to pull a funny face at us. I guess he couldn't stay away.

We're 4 games in & some are calling for Di Canio's head. For me he has made few mistakes. Sure we are not hwere we want to be, but nor was Lou, at this stage of that record breaking season.

I think I am going to scream at the next person who makes comparisons with 85/6.

It's not like Macari had just arrived and thrown together a completely new squad after relegation.

I know people are using it to point out you can have a slow start and go up, but it irks me because I am grumpy, old and disenchanted - and that was before Sunday.

You're quite right to be irked by that fatuous comparison....a much better one is 84/85 when Macari came in as rookie boss. Opening day win followed by just 2 more in the next 11.  This included some horrendous displays at the CG going down to the likes of Hereford 0-3 and Torquay 1-3.

I'd been bigging Macari up to people and managed to drag a few new to Swindon types along to savour the atmosphere, needless to say they weren't convinced and soon gave up.

The season spluttered along, including an FA Cup demise at the CG to non league Dagenham (not the same as D and R).  Things were brought to a head on a wet midweek in Scunthorpe when we went down 6-2....unusually all six scored by a different player....Macari was sacked.  The rest is history.

One thing though happened...and I'd like to see di Canio aim for this.....the home form after those initial defeats started to turn around, so that despite being shit on the road, fans could see some sort of progress and backed Macari when he was sacked.

di Canio needs to steady the ship.....shame the next home game is on Sky...just adds to the hype and loss of focus.

Am I the only person who would like to see Gabilondo and Ritchie playing on their natural wings so they can beat full back on the outside rather than having to always cut inside?

Left sided players play on the left. Right sided players play on the right. It's not hard.

He is learning the job as he goes along. He talks so much sense I feel that he will turn it around and put things right.
