Just off to Southbourne Beach to catch the airshow, it appears to be sunny for a change. We have hired a beach hut for today and tomorrow, so looking forward to lots of spectacular noise. Can't wait for the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster, awe inspiring

Sometimes I think you are overly harsh but that comment actually amused me!

I thought it was being called off after the flooding yesterday?

Anyways, Southbourne is lovely. Holidayed there for the last eight years (family holidays) and, whilst its not as renowned as Bournemouth or Boscombe, it's less busy and still the same, lovely coastline.

Never realised there was an airshow in Bournemouth.  Decent line up, by the looks of it.  We don't have one in Farnborough this year (alternates each year with Paris Airshow), but already looking forward to next year's.

Farnborough is quality, worked there about 5 years ago. Not really a plane person but some of the kit they had there was mighty impressive.

David isnt miserable

Maybe he just had a bad childhood then, just strikes me as very negative about everything, each to their own I guess.

Anyhow I'm not really a plane person but to back up what FLASH stated, I happened to be lucky enough to be caught in a traffic jam on the way to work Wednesday night by B'mth airport when the Red Arrows were coming in to land, it was basically one every 20 seconds or so, great show.

Spitfire, Lancaster, Hurricane and the Red Arrows, that's four of the very few things that make me proud to be British

I think you should read it again, you may have missed the point!

Shame the Vulcan is grounded with a fuel leak.

Always get a bit of a lump in the throat watching the Sparrows. My dad was based at Kemble when they were there. Mind you its all about the planes, he's a ManU supporting tosser who left my mum when I was 3!

I worked at the Fairford Airshow for some years and wasn't a big plane fan - however there is something special about the WWII planes and the Vulcan - something british we can be proud of.

The sparrows are very good but the Italians are fucking mental.
