I like to think that he was an Ali Dia type of player.  Smiley

Very strange, because Di Canio said that Wojtanowicz was an athlete compared to a lot of the other players here on trial a few days ago.

Now he suddenly doesn't cope with the fitness level. Hmmm... well. Let's hope we can sign a big striker or two before the transfer deadline!

More likely the wages couldn't be agreed.

I suspect that'd be extremely unlikely because we'd still need a target man. Perhaps Raimondi is back on the radar, because Paolo never said he wasn't good enough, just said that his wages were an issue?

This interview has been posted elsewhere, but here Di Canio explains that it was down to the guy's reaction to how they train

"No thank you. Bye bye."

I agree with letting him go if he wasn't up for it.  We had enough players last season that were like that.  What worries me are the comments towards the end of the interview that make it sound like as the end of August approaches we will sign anyone who has a physical presence.  I hope I am wrong this is just ho it came across to me.

Perhaps he has shown enough in training to be worth a punt. Wouldn't say its beyond the realms of possibility.

In the interview on the Lazzano thread PDC pretty much says that Wilko isnt for him but as a last resort he could get a deal.

Thoughts/fears are we are running out of time to find a quality big man. If Wilko was that good we would have signed him by now.
