I was told last night that from this season we'll able to drink in the stands... Anyone else heard about this?

The FSF started a thing about it, haven't heard that the rules have been changed.

Somebody mentioned that drinking in the stands was coming to me as well. Seems not yet.
Stupid ain't it, Rugby and Cricket fans don't have the same restrictions. Its not the 80's any more.

But perfectly ok in Rugby stadiums? Sounds like discrimination to me ...

Can't see what harm it will do.
Those who want to get plastered will do anyhow before the game.

The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985 is not applied to any other games or events, including Rugby Union & League, Cricket and music concerts even if they take place in football stadiums.
Discrimination of the highest order!

If people acted like animals when they went to watch other sports, there would be similar alcohol bans for those sports.

Yes, especially as the same people watch football and rugby, yet there is little / no trouble at rugby matches
