Opening day of the season was going to be a memorable occasion any which way. However, my Town mad 7 year old son is going to be one of the mascots after his Mum and I gave him the experience as his birthday present this week. Weirdly I think I'm most looking forward to seeing him diving around (he's a keeper... quite a rarity in mascot land apparently) in front of a busy Town End pre match. Be nice, you bunch of deviants!! Clap

Thats brilliant, he'll love it.

I did it about 15 years ago and it was the best thing ever!

Especially doing some one twos with Cuervo and trying to score against Digby!

Did this for a midweek game last year with my son  (before he became a keeper). I loved it, I'm sure you will too! Oh and your son will probably like it as well.

Nice one, its a brilliant experience for the kids....and the Dads too. We did it for my daughter's tenth birthday when we played Tranmere inthe 09/10 season and won 3.0.
Despite Katya being quite shy the couple who looked after her George and Brenda were fantastic with her and she keeps hinting at me to do it again.

The players, staff and management were brilliant and Mike Spearman was fantastic in making a real fuss of her..

You are both in  for a brilliant day Smiley

I was our (un)lucky mascot against Stevenage Borough in 1998! Still a great day though, Alan McDonald was captain and was bloody fantastic with all the mascots!

oh and i was already taller than Willie Carson who i met in the tunnel!

George was an absolute legend looking after the Junior Robins back in the day. Top bloke and does a great job.

I think it's still the same chap as when I did it all them years ago, atleast it looks like him from the stands. He was a great bloke.

This sounds like the ideal gift for a sons birthday. I'm going to ask my dad if he will buy it for me, fingers crossed.

Hope i dont put a downer on things, i had my lad be mascot a couple of years ago and he didnt get chance to to kick around with any of the players i dont know if it was because there were about 5 mascots that day but they were given a ball and kicked among themselves for about 10 mins and had photos taken. It was a great day though having the tour around the stadium meeting the players and everything brilliant experience for all involved on the day something i am not going to forget in a hurry and neither will my lad or his grandpa, hope your lad gets to have a kick around with the boys will top off an already fantastic day hope your lad enjoys himself and you do too all the best.
