Well, yes, that was the point of my post. Did you think you'd discovered a funny angle?

Did the angle have 3 sides?

< My team - Fairford have Wellington (somerset) - never heard of them. Anybody know if they're any good? >

Local to me. Got relegated last year from a league that is a lot weaker than a few years ago when Chipp, Taunton and Tivvy ruled the roost. New manager, new team, so unknown really but they're a well-run, friendly club...but look out for Paul Pocock, newly re-signed, that's if they can get him out of the pub. He'll either score a hat-trick or get sent off arguing before the kick-off with your tea lady.

Expect Welly to arrive late - M5, summer Saturday, caravans, grockles.

I think I'm being persecuted by my inferiority complex. How's your Oasis Leisure Complex?

Cheers Wilf. I've played a Wellington before but not sure if it's them. What colour do they play in? We've had quite a shake up from last year too. We'll see how it goes.

The 'other' Welly is in Telford, pretty low level. Don't think they qualify for the FA Cup, Vase etc.

Welly play in orange / black. You'll be black and blue if you annoy Mr Pocock. Like all teams at this level, the better players only sign up when they don't get selected by the higher clubs who pay a bit of decent money, so hard to tell how good they'll be. The budget for one club in the same division is £100 / match (I work with the manager) so, what, £6/£7 per squad member? Welly must be in a similar position. So if they can pick up £20/£30/£40 in the higher leagues, they will.

I think i've played them then! Have they got the club house on the bottom corner of the pitch as you walk out on to it? Pretty sure we had a friendly there last season.

If i'm playing then i'm the type of player to give as good as i get, so it could be interesting as i play defence!

We don't have any money out here so we're all playing for the love of the game!

Think it's the other Welly then. Had a look - they also play in orange and seem to have progressed a bit recently. Anyway, it's the cider boys you'll be up agin.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011%E2%80%9312_FA_Cup_Qualifying_Rounds#First_Round_Qualifying

Long winded i know but i know a few like the local football,Marine have Ciren in a local match.
For the man from Poole Cheesy...if they beat Andover they meet Kingstonian at home in a toughy.

Poole no longer meet Andover Lee. Very sad news

The Board of Directors on behalf of the shareholders at Andover FC regret that due to continuing financial restraints they have been forced with immediate effect to dissolve Andover Football Club Ltd.
After much deliberation the decision was made as it was agreed that the cost of staging Southern League Football was no longer viable. Therefore resignations have been tendered to the Evo Stik Southern League, the Wyvern League and also to the FA and Hampshire and North Hants FA's
Professional advice will now be sort as to the recommended course of action regarding administration, debtors etc..
It is hoped that in the near future Andover FC can be resurrected to play at a more appropriate level to continue the clubs name which has been synonymous with the town since 1883.

Its a fucking disgrace that a town the size of Andover, 45,000+, doesnt have a football team.  Over 125 years of history down the pan.

You can probably guess what my hometown is.
