Whilst there will be those who will piss and moan about him making this statement and raising expectations too far and so on, I say fair fucking play for showing some balls. I don't want to be hearing "Oooh, Rome wasn't built in a day" (pun intended), it's going to be a season of consolidation and so forth. Let's fucking do it

Everyone in that division should be saying the same statement. Everyone wants to win the league, but realistically not everyone will challenge for it. Most fans know deep down whether they are going to challenge for the title. It's just good to hear the Town coming out with these statements and drilling this into the team's minds so it sticks. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to hear this and whilst I personally don't think we will win the league it's certainly a brilliant attitude to have. A few more strikers and a left back and we're good for at least the top 7 I think.

I agree with this attitude. I personally believe that STFC should aim to be World Club Champions (but I would settle being Champions of Europe).

Out of interest, and I'm not fishing, did you have any on us to go up last year?

Id love us to beat Crawley to the title! I'm really starting to hate those fuckers! Just seen they are 5-1 up against Chelsea Reserves

The only time I ever bet on us to win the league was at a price of 12/1 just before the start of the 1995/96 season. (What made it even more satisfying was that I placed the bet in Bristol.) Tempted to try again at odds of 11/1.

Don't hate them. Pity them. Their gates have not kept pace with the spending (and are unlikely to with a resurgent Brighton just up the road.) What they are doing is unsustainable. They'll be back in the non-League, saddled with massive debt, within a few years. Think Rushden.

Meh, if someone wants to bankroll them then that's fine. No different from Fulham, Wigan, Wolves, Blackburn etc, etc. As said, it'll all end in tears given their fan base.
Why I dislike them is down to that fat crooked cunt Steve Evans.
