Without a recognised striker playing (if you count Danny De Vito as an attacking midfielder) it sounded like it was a good overall performance.
More please.

2 clean sheets and 16 goals so far. You can't grumble with how this tour has gone. 2 strikers needed, get Esajas signed up and get a LB. I think we're good to go then.

Firstly, as we all know, friendlies mean very little (we had a good pre-season last year for a starter) and I also don't want to sound over-excitable.
However, I have to admit that I am a big fan of the clubs approach this pre-season.
I've read plenty of comments from people stating that they felt that we didn't have enough games planned and that the opposition wasn't good enough etc etc
But I think the progressive build-up is the way forward. Why take on bigger opposition at this stage? Especially when the management are rebuilding a squad both literally and in the morale sense for those who survived.
Swindon Supermarine and Cirencester will offer adequate opposition and then we'll have Reading as the season dress rehearsal, we don't need more than that.
We are low on centre fowards but a half-decent forward doesn't need pre-season to get going (sure it's ideal but not an absolute necessity).

his ip says hes actually in italy, unlike SONN Thank you. TO NEVILE W - maybe I read SONN's just like you but I am not so obsessed to remember her profile name. Game was a far sterner test than last Saturday. Our defence still need proper test - Kamakaze dircted well from the back. Ritchie was possessed in the first half - a real live wire.

Oh you cynic! Are you suggesting that oakleight2010 is a fake even though he can keep us updated on the Italian weather and even find the time to browse Oxford United's forum during a holiday to Italy but cannot upload one single photograph of this tour?

Guess its a bit early to say yet but Ferry doesn't look like he's going to start the season in the first team at the moment.

If Risser and Smith are doing the business after pre-season then Ferry will have to wait.

As you said, it's too early.

I personally think that's woefully inadequate. But we shall see

I personally think that's woefully inadequate. But we shall see I think woefully inadequate is a bit melodramatic but it is a case of wait and see. Last season we had what people would consider a nice blend of friendlies - Al-Sadd, Karlsruhe, Hereford, Forest and the Non-Leaguers... 7 games, 6 wins and a draw. What did it achieve long term? Nothing. I want to see a condensed pre-season with the senior squad featuring more regularly. Despite being content, I still think the club might arrange a behind-closed-doors game.

You think people like Samdy Gray deserve sharing my holiday pics? Marche played in pink shirts. When they came on to the pitch the Town player clapped the Town fans and the linos had proper flags this time whereas last Sat the linos used shirts for flags
