One assumes Birchall didn't get asked yesterday morning, and had to decide by yesterday evening.
God knows how long he has been mulling it over. But if we have alternative targets then we can't hang around just in case.

Paolo di Canio has stated how he only wants players who are 100% committed so I presume Birchall talking to other clubs won't impress di Canio that much. |
