Let's hope something positive comes out of this today then, be nice to get another signing wrapped up before the weekend. Also, I know it's been mentioned many times about how much people love what PdC's been saying regarding the squad but it's like he's reading from the 'How to get the fans onside' handbook. If management doesn't work out he's got a stellar career in PR ahead of him. To wit: "I want to be able to look into the eyes of players and see what they really feel,” explained the Town boss.
"I will not sign players here who don’t show the correct attitude to me about playing for Swindon Town"

It's best to show straight away that what's required is commitment.
I think he is making it known to everyone (fans, other footballers, chairmans etc) that this is the way he works..110% nothing less "New manager = gone to his head but for the good"
Can't wait to see the team in action!

It may well be PR spin, but I can't help thinking PdC means everything he says. What has been lacking for quite a while at the club is a lack of effort and desire, under di Canio I don't think that will be accepted.

Sorry I didn't mean to say I think it's spin, just that if you tried you couldn't come out with stuff fans wanted to hear better than he what he's said. As OST says I think he's 100% genuine, from his interviews so far here and in his autobiography his understanding of the importance of supporters is palpable. His managerial ability may be yet to be proven but in terms of passion and attitude he's ticking every box.

This, to me, is the important line... it's not saying playing for me, it's saying playing for Swindon Town which emphasises to me that PDC sees the club as more important than himself...

He was the same as a player and is very refreshing to hear a manager talking like this, not any manager but a Swindon Town manager.

Just finished reading his book (from about 10 years ago) and the way he speaks in that is exactly the way he has been speaking since joining the Town. Pretty sure he only wants players that are like he was/is..... totally committed and who consider being a footballer as a privilege that should not be wasted. I have such high hopes (but then I had them last year too)!

Agreed. I expect tomorrow he'll announce they're getting rid of the lass singing 'wise men say' on the pitch before the game as he'll be doing it himself.
