for the past 12 months though it's been a novelty having players who actually want to play for the club and not just turn up each week to fanny around on the pitch. i.e. Prutton

in fairness to Ferry i don't think it was his fault he was getting fat on the bench.

Even off the bench, and supposedly unfit, he was still as good as he was during the play-off season. He was also more committed than every other player combined when he did play.

I kind of agree with yeo (for once) Smiley

The hype does seem a bit OTT about players we know nothing about.
Let's wait and see if they're any good before we get too excited.

It's not about hype over players though, I don't think much has even been said of them.

It's just that the guy knows what he wants and has a clear plan in his mind. Quite refreshing after the shambles of last season.

Di Canio has a very clear ethos. He wants his players to play with the same pride, passion, commitment and determination he did. When at West Ham, Di Canio played each game like a life long east end boy!

I dont think he'll suffer fools either. If we did end up with a Prutton like player this season I dont think he'd last a month.

Apart from when they were playing up north.  He has a well known reputation among Hammers fans of bottling it and coming up with sudden injures so he didn’t have to play as he knew he would get kicked off the park.

Is there any proof of that?

Well I took the word of a couple West Ham supporting friends of mine, there is some stat out there about him playing 95% of home games and 60something% of away ones for them.  They love the bloke but just wanted to calm me down when I started using words like passion, desire, commitment, etc  to describe reasons as to why I pleased with his appointment.

Allegedly a lot of Hammers fans were a bit peeved with him at the time for this common practice

He never wanted to play up north, I thought this was well known?
