I know this has been done to death but....
I need to get a car towed from my house to a garage in Swindon for an MOT. Marshgate garage seems to be the cheapest for towing in (£35 to tow and £50 for MOT). Anyone know much about them or have any other ideas?

I thought you were allowed to drive the car to and from an MOT. Probably wrong though.

If you have an MOT booked you can drive to the garage to get it tested however if it fails you cannot drive it away.... That's why garages often offer free MOT's because they have you by the balls if it fails...

Not if it's uninsured and no tax too! It's been off the road for a while.

Which is why, unless you're a moron, you get it tested when you've still got a week or 2 or your current MOT...?

Might be cheaper to get it insured for a day at a time. You don't need to be taxed to drive it to and from the test centre.
