  PAOLO Di Canio is close to completing his first signing as Swindon Town manager after holding discussions with an unnamed target this week.

A lad who has scored goals at a good rate in league one will not step down to league two surely?!

I guess the first signing will show us all the sort of 'quality' we can expect, got an uneasy feeling that it wont be anywhere close to the names being put out there at the moment

it depends if PDC can convince them. He's a masive name in the footballing world and him alone could secure the services of many players just because they want to play for him.

Nothing to do about stepping down a level in my opinion. It'll only be for one season anyway

Wont be McDonald - Norwich want him to be in League 1 next season - otherwise he wouldve stayed at Gillingham

only rumour Ive heard is it could be Mathieu Manset from Reading
