Crass maybe but that's just the way Di Canio comes across I'm sure the media also probably twisted what he said slightly also. At least he honest about his views though

For me there's a world of difference between someone who's done it all as a player, played for the best managers, kept his head down and started to learn his trade at Leicester under Sven versus someone who's never managed, not done as much as a player and already has his agent shooting his mouth off about his next job.
Didi please.

True or like I said it could just be the media twisting his comments in the interview. I'm not against Di Canio becoming manager but i suspect the club will have more to lose appointing him. Hamann would be my 1st choice but if Burley or Di Canio are appointed then they'll get my full support also

Looking at the interview (or to be more accurate the very poor translation of snippets of the interview - I'm reasonably sure he said his future might be at a club in a lower league, not "an inferior league" as he's quoted as saying), he's not directly quoted as saying he's looking at a managerial role. So maybe he's talking about coach/assistant somewhere.

And there are other jobs available at present in the FL as well. Bradford, Brentford and Rovers.

I dont think Rovers have the money to pay for a big name manager.
Buckle is almost a certainty for them if Torquay dont go up.

Well no it's not suprising but what does suprise me is being so vocal about wanting another job while waiting to hear on another job
Where does it say that? I'm not saying that in a bolshy way, it's a genuine question.

If Buckle's available for the right price we should be getting him in ahead of Di Canio, Hamann or pretty much any other cunt. He's quality.

He could be a flop at another club though. Just as much as PDC or Hamann could.

Exactly. Just as any manager could. Whats your point?
At least Buckle's been there and done it, he's a game away from 2 promotions in 3 seasons and keeping them up in the one in between.

Well I think he's a good manager although some Torquay fans dont really think he's as good as other fans make out. He wouldn't be an instant success sort of manager. He'd need to build and the fans (well the majority of them) wouldn't have the patience.

While I do think he's a great up and comming manager, I do think this is our chance to appoint a manager in the same spirit as Macari/Ardiles/Hoddle. Di Canio will boost the gates, and he will make Swindon games must watch. Too many armchair fans at Swindon who dont turn up because they dont think they'll miss anything. Well with Di Canio you will miss out, one way or the other. Style over substance maybe, but I dont really care. Want some excitment, want to be the biggest club in the league.
