I've noticed that people don't want Paul Bodin to take on the managerial role because of his lack of managerial experience. Putting aside all other issues about Di Canio, what managerial experience would he bring to the club that Bodin wouldn't?

I am very much in the "give zippy a chance" camp. If we are going to have a first time manager, why not Bodin? He has developed a succesful youth system which could well pay dividends for the club in the coming year or two. He has played at international level with some VERY accomplished players, has plenty of contacts throughout the game in this country and he knows all about going to the top level with Swindon Town FC.

The problem is with Zippy is that outside of SN1 not many players will have any knowledge of who he is at all whereas every man and his dog knows of Di Canio.

I'm not saying I want Di Canio in because I don't really, I'd accept it if it were him but he's not my first choice.

The more I thibk about it the more I fancy Hamman having a crack at the job, everyone knows who he is, he's had World Cup experience, won his fair share of trophies and has had some coaching exp.

I'm sure he'd be a damn sight more eloquent than Di Canio and would get his message accross better and importantly has now had experience of the lower leagues.

He was a similar type of player as JD and if he stays I'm sure could Didi could get the best out of him again which would be a major bonus.

For me at the moment it's a straight choice between Burley and Didi and at the moment I think I'm leaning toward the latter.

Success at youth level isn't really about winning the league though is it. Apparantly there is a good batch ready to sign at the end of next season but if we are being brutally honest Bodin has yet to bring through and develope a player that will be a first team regular or we have been able to sell on.

Like i said hopefully this next bunch who are mainly his own group now will do us better.

Just a thought, but if Bodin was such a good youth coach, would it be in our best interests to promote him to first team level?

Bodin IS part of STFC legend, but I wouldn't appoint him over Di Canio.

No, would be a disaster.

In your opinion. You can't state it like it's fact.

If we are going to sign noone and just use up and coming youth teamers I would go for Bodin. The argument about not many knowing him outside of SN1 would be irrelevant. Also, if we are going to rely on buying everyone else's youth, then people outside of SN1 will be aware of him and the fact he gives youth a chance!
