I've been following the town for over 30 years and WONT renew my season ticket if Di Canio becomes manager (no matter HOW good he is). There is no room for facism or a man who admires Mussolini at my club!

Millions of people died as a result of the rise of facism. This is far too big an issue for some fans to "not give a flying f*ck" about.

To be fair, that was ages ago, and they've not really done much genocide recently.....

I want him. We need the excitement.

Take the risk, put us back on the football map!

Spot on.

I can understand why people wouldnt want to come. But I also think we should allow people to have their own opinions outside of the workplace.

Has Di Canio ever had problems with black players in England? Would it affect his ability to do the job? I dont think it would.

He does come from a country where extreme politics is much more common, left and right.

If anything Id worry more about the affect on the behaviour of our own fans, whose treatment of a few black players was not great this season.

If his political beliefs had any bearing on the job (e.g. having a problem with Blacks) then he should not be chosen. Personally, I'm not convinced they would.

I think the risk we would be a stepping stone is far greater. But that's true of almost anyone we employ.

That'd carry more weight if he'd kept them outside the workplace

I couldn't give a shit about his political views as long as they do not interfere with his ability to manage the team then what does it matter.

Those that are against his beliefs or alleged beliefs I sure would return if we was riding high at the top of the table - time will tell

Can't see West Ham taking the risk on him yet.

Absolutely. Giving roman salutes ON THE PITCH is pretty much carrying your beliefs into the workplace! The man is a facist and I would NEVER pass through the turnstiles of a Town game as long as he was manager if he were to be appointed.

These are not alledged beliefs. He is a self-professed facist and totally unapologetic about it.
If Di Canio is ok for you, then who else would you accept if they were good at the game? Peter Sutcliffe? Fred West? Pol Pot? Bin Laden? Robert Mugabe? Gary Glitter? A bit of a silly list I know, but there are times when you have to accept that some things are bigger than football.

If he came here and the media focus was on the football and he didn't publicly make reference to any political beliefs then I honestly wouldn't be bothered.

I can see why some people would be bothered though which is fair enough.
