I heard that on saturday, think it was just rumour though from BBC Wilts
I thought it came out in an interview with Jeremy W.  He said he "understood" PC would like to take the team to Italy for a short tour - I bet he would!!

Pre-season friendlies are great.

Went to a local one once and got battered with a mate of mine on warm cider. Took the piss out of Luc Nijholt throughout the game because he was sweating ungodly amounts of sweat.

when i ran a sunday league side i made sure that was our home pitch.1 min walk from my old house.probably the best council pitches too

When I used to play, we trained on Buckhurst and everyone lived fairly near there, but our "home" pitch was Lydiard Park. Randomly.

Anyone else go on the pre season Holland tour under Hoddle? Cant recall which year but 10 of us went over in a mini bus for it and had a cracking time. Our only mistake was going to Amsterdam for 3 days first after which the whole trip is a bit hazy. We were in some sort of tournament somewhere, Utrecht maybe?, and the entire event seemed to take place in a council sports field. The beer tent was quality though so we spent the time getting wasted, lying around in the sun and watching Town play other Dutch teams. I remember Hoddle seeing our Town shirts and coming over for a chat but he left pretty rapidly when he realised what a state we were in. John Gorman was much more fun though and invited us back to the team hotel although for some reason he also forgot to tell us where it was! Happy days! Cheesy

I've never heard of TBC? Presumably some foreign outfit? We should be showing more ambition. Di Canio out.

A top trip. I still use the Heineken apron I 'acquired' from the said beer tent. Town won the tournament, had top scorer and Fitz, I think, won best player. I remember one Town fan trying to nick a sponsor's flag from netting behind the goals and being gently persuaded to put it back, and the mass footy matches played on the spare pitch between tournament games.

There seemed to be loads of Town fans there, and the locals were ace.
