Is it a real person or a fictional character?

If it is a real person, are they still alive?

Yes...

Championship...

Difficult to imagine any of the current managers in the Championship who would 'blow the other names out the water' coming here but stranger things have happened.

Trying to work out who you could mean. Warnock? Cotterill? Sven?!?!

Is he currently employed as manager or is he an assistant manager or even coach or DOF rather than employed as a manager?

So basically what you're asking is "is he currently employed by a football team in a capacity other than manager" - Yes
